Pavo in the Cast

Currently, Constable Pavo in the cast is redirected to The Monk. This is correct with respect to the actor concerned (although I am not 100% sure who voices the actual Constable Pavo before the regeneration). But Constable Pavo is actually a separate person. I am not sure what the standard way of dealing with such subtle plot twists is, but the current situation does not seem 100% correct. Perhaps, it would be better to remove any kind of link in the cast.Amorkuz 10:33, November 26, 2015 (UTC)

If it's a separate person, if should link to Pavo (The Black Hole).--Skittles the hog - talk 10:37, November 26, 2015 (UTC)

Oh, actually, I see what you mean now. It should link to the Monk, as that's who the credit applies to. There should be a page for the real Pavo though.--Skittles the hog - talk 11:50, November 26, 2015 (UTC)

The page for the real Pavo will, I imagine, be created soon as Commander Flail links to it. Maybe the resolution can be found if there is a way to learn who voices the real Pavo: Rufus Hound voices the Monk, Janet Dibley voices Pavo after regeneration, but Pavo before the regeneration also has some lines. Maybe this is clarified in the CD Extras: I have not listened to them yet. What I mean to say: if Rufus Hound also voices Pavo before the regeneration (the two voices are not too dissimilar to my ear), then it is okay to change the Constable Pavo link to Pavo.
Is there, by any chance, an analogous situation, in the past. Both Utopia (TV story) and The Book of Kells (audio story) are different in that the false persona is a complete fake, not a real person impersonated. Amorkuz 13:05, November 26, 2015 (UTC)

The cast list should mirror the one provided by Big Finish. Pavo's page can include the voice actor though, if you/someone can find it.--Skittles the hog - talk 13:46, November 26, 2015 (UTC)

Rufus Hound primarily voices the Monk (pretending to be Pavo), while Janet Dibley voices the regenerated real Pavo (under the alias "Flail"). However, the real Pavo also briefly appears before he regenerates. I actually can't remember if he actually had any lines, but if he did, it was just one or two. If he did have any, he was probably voiced by Hound as well. Still, Hound's primary character in the story is the Monk, and Pavo's primary actor in the story i Dibley, which is why I linked them this way. JagoAndLitefoot 18:31, November 26, 2015 (UTC)

Ok, I have the answer about all voice actors and a suggestion how to code that into the cast. There are three roles for the Monk and Pavo:
  • the Monk voiced by Rufus Hound and credited as "Constable Pavo" in Big Finish cast;
  • Constable Pavo pre-regeneration voiced by Anthony Keetch, according to CD Extras, and uncredited in Big Finish cast;
  • Constable Pavo post-regeneration voiced by Janet Dibley and credited as "Commander Flail" in Big Finish cast.
Currently on the Wikia, we have the cast exactly as on Big Finish website, which is as it should be. "Constable Pavo" played by Rufus Hound links to The Monk, as it should be. Commander Flail links to (so-far nonexistent) Pavo as it should be. The problem is that this linkage may create the impression that Pavo is just an alias of the Monk. My suggestion is to add to "The Seeth" played by Anthony Keetch the role of "Previous Pavo" (as it is called in the scripts according to CD Extras) with a note "(uncredited)" and link this Pavo to the same page as Commander Flail, i.e., Pavo. This way, the actual state of things is postulated in a manner subtle enough not to betray it to a casual reader (cf. the partially hidden presence of Lucie Miller in The Book of Kells).
I'll be happy to make the changes, i.e., adding "Previous Pavo" as a character if no one minds.Amorkuz 18:33, November 26, 2015 (UTC)

Regeneration Story

I categorized this story as a regeneration story because in Pt.3 Pavo regenerates. TheChampionOfTime 22:23, December 20, 2015 (UTC)
Are there any witnesses to the regeneration? MystExplorer 22:33, December 20, 2015 (UTC)
