History

But if this is the original, does that make it real? Does that make it the actual Devil?Ida Scott to the Doctor [The Satan Pit [src]]

Ida Scott was the science officer in the Walker Expedition and was researching the previous civilization who enabled the planet to orbit a black hole and trying to discover the power source that was holding the planet in orbit. She also accompanied the Doctor down into the pit within the planet. (DW: The Impossible Planet)

When the Doctor was suspended from the cable, being lowered into the pit, when Ida started to talk about her mother, she paused, implying that Ida is sad that she and her mother will never see each other again, or that her mother has died and she is sad to to think about her. She also says that she was brought up on Neoclassic Congregational, which might be her religion, or maybe just a belief.

While Ida was sitting next to the trapdoor, waiting for contact from the Doctor after he fell to the bottom of the pit, she was eventually rendered unconscious and suffered mild oxygen starvation because her oxygen supply ran out. But luckily she was rescued by the Doctor and reunited with her crew after the rocket was beyond the reach of the black hole. (DW: The Satan Pit)

Personality

And yet here we are. Beyond the laws of physics.Ida Scott to the Doctor and Rose Tyler [The Impossible Planet [src]]

Ida Scott is very self-confident, as she has the ability to command a ship. She acts tough and still maintains calmness and control when she learns that they will soon run out of air, with no way of escape, but pleads to the the Doctor that he mustn't go because she doesn't want to die on her own.

She also is faithful to her crew and finds it hard to believe that one of the members of her crew had attacked, and tried to kill, other members. She also becomes faithful and loyal to the Doctor and Rose and she starts to take orders from them, especially when she and the Doctor are alone in the pit. (DW: The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit)
