Charles Barnum Cleeve was the American ambassador to King George III in 1774. He brought Mayakatula as a gift for the king's royal menagerie, calling her a supernatural ape. He also antagonized the Faction Paradox representatives, challenging them to ritual combat for control of history and even manipulating their atavistic responses by using tricks that Mother Francesca speculated must have been taught to him by the lodges.
