Talk:Enlightenment (fanzine)

Why I created this article
Since a few editors seem quick to nominate new articles for deletion, I wanted to note that I created this article because Enlightenment is a pretty major publication in the Who fandom world, plus it's been around for 25 years, which I think makes it the longest-running magazine of its kind next to DWM itself (I could be wrong). The magazine is also published to a professional standard - glossy pages, the lot - so it's not a case of someone photocopying the thing in a basement. There needs to be more added to the article, of course, but I thought I would get this stub going. 23skidoo 16:31, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- I think you put in enough information not to call it a stub. I would call it a fanzine rather than a magazine, which I don't consider a pejorative label, merely as a descriptive one. --Stardizzy2 18:46, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- I shifted it into Tie-in Magazines for now. I did disagree at first about it not being called a magazine, however I just noticed on the cover the magazine self-identifies as a fanzine, so fair enough. As there is no fanzine category, Tie-in Magazines is as good a place as any until one is created. We should keep published works categorized together in any case. The Doctor Who Fandom category (which is currently a redlink) would be more appropriate if an article on DWIN itself were created, I think. 23skidoo 15:55, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- You're free to create a Fanzine category (if there's more fanzines to come). Just...just as long as the pages within (and subsequent linked pages) don't turn into promotional material (for example for DW Clubs etc). That's been my major concern when creating Fan club related pages. Also an alternate category may be Category:Fandom (that's also where the fanzine category should live should it be created). --Tangerineduel 16:40, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
