A girl was asked, on pain of death, to tell a story to the Caliph. She decided to tell him the longest story in the world. It was a continuing story featuring an old man and his adopted granddaughter. Her first story ended on a cliffhanger, and she promised to continue the story the next night. The Caliph was satisfied, and declared that as long as the story continued, so would her life. (PROSE: The Longest Story in the World)
