A transmat (short for transmitter of matter or matter transmitter) is a common form of technological form of teleport, developed by various species throughout history, which disperses matter, transmits it to another location and reassembles it. The process is nearly instantaneous, being able, for example, to transmit a being across the Sol system within seconds. (DW: Bad Wolf)
