Tardis:What is not a spoiler
Official releases → Where spoilers are allowed → Comics and spoilers → Ways you can avoid spoilers → What is not a spoiler |
To us, a spoiler is not merely "something that comes from a new story". It's not something that comes from a story that's currently unavailable in your area. It's not something from this week's episode that you were waiting to see on Tuesday night because you had to work on the weekend.
It's something that comes from a story that hasn't been officially released in its entirety yet.
Once a new story is completely released[1] it no longer contains spoilers. There's no grace period, as happens on some other websites. We don't try to shield readers for a few weeks after new material comes out. In terms of TV episodes, there's no waiting for the episode to drop in the Australian iTunes Store, no allowance for it to be broadcast on BBC America, no "degrees of release" at all. It's either been broadcast on BBC One — or it hasn't. Once it has, you'll see a flurry of activity around here as people furiously write new articles about it.
So if you are not in the UK, you need to plan your use of the site accordingly — particularly on the day a new episode drops.
- ↑ Since televised episodes can be of different lengths, we define "completely" as "the top or bottom of the hour following the end credit roll on the original broadcaster, usually BBC One".
