Mrs Rugglesthorpe was an aristocrat. When her husband Sir Henry failed to win a game of snakes and ladders against the Celestial Toymaker, she and her family and their servants were turned into the red pieces of his living chess board. She was turned into the Queen piece. They were later used when the Toymaker played against the Fifth Doctor. (PROSE: Divided Loyalties)
