Altair III

Altair III was the home planet of Light-beings. (PROSE: Endgame)

The planet was once invaded by the Daleks who were attempting to establish a base there. They planned to destroy the forests and jungles covering planet, kill all of the animal life and destroy the ozone layer. The Doctor helped the flying native creatures of the planet to repel the invasion and they made him an honourary member of their colony. This was of great help to the Sixth Doctor when the TARDIS landed on Altair III one hundred years later in search of an American envoy, and he and his companions Jason and Crystal were ambushed by the Cybermen. The Doctor was able to call the flying creatures for help using their language and they attacked the Cybermen, allowing the Doctor, Jason and Crystal to escape back to the TARDIS.
