Hathold

King Hathold was the ruler of Esselven.
When Glavis Judd invaded the planet, Hathold and his family and some servants escaped to Esselven Minor. Whilst trying to shore up the defences, there was an accident. He and some of the servants were irradiated and died. He sent his family into the forest for safety, and recorded a message to tell them what had happened when they were able to return.
