Ovmakh was a leading figure in martial archaeology and was asked to speak at a conference on the Braxiatel Collection. She was interested in collecting the military hardware that was left behind by the Fifth Axis. Bernice Summerfield thought she had a fetish for military hardware. She was tortured by the Axis.
