Squaddie was a slang term used to refer to soldiers. Amy Pond said that she "love[d] a squaddie" when talking to a Dalek which was assuming the persona of a British Army Ironside. (TV: Victory of the Daleks) "Ozzie loves the squaddie" was a minor meme that travelled around Coal Hill School, "squaddie" referring to former soldier Danny Pink while "Ozzie" referred to Clara Oswald.
