David Brierley
David Brierly (also known as David Brierley, 1935-10 June 2008[1]; born in Yorkshire) was the second actor to provide the voice for K9, succeeding John Leeson. Explained as having been caused by laryngitis, Brierley voiced K9 beginning in The Creature from the Pit and ending with the uncompleted Shada, after which Leeson returned to the role. He also provided the voice for Erato in The Creature from the Pit.
Brierley appeared in other television programmes, including Z-Cars, Juliet Bravo, and The Tripods. K9 was his most notable role. Also of note was his part as Mr. Kemp in the BBC's nuclear war drama Threads. Most recently he appeared as himself in the 2000 documentary K9 Unleashed.
Among Brierley's hobbies were sailing and long-distance running.[source needed]
