The Martian Golden Age was the term given by the Twelfth Doctor to an era that "might" have begun in 1881 when, on behalf of the Ice Warriors, he sent a signal which was answered by Alpha Centauri, who offered to help the Empress Iraxxa off her desolated home planet Mars, welcoming her race to the universe.
