River Song was put on trial for the alleged murder of the Eleventh Doctor. (AUDIO: Whodunnit) In reality, she had knowingly shot the Teselecta but kept it secret in order to fake the Doctor's death. (TV: The Wedding of River Song)

She submitted a plea of not guilty, saying that she had killed the Doctor to save the universe, but she was found guilty. (AUDIO: Whodunnit?) She was given 12,000 consecutive life sentences and imprisoned in the Stormcage Containment Facility. (HOMEVID: First Night)
