Carol's mother visited her in the hospital after she was left in a coma following Red Doors' bombing of Cardiff Airport. She considered Mr Alturk to be a good man and was saddened when he told her that Carol might not wake up.
Needing to get away from Carol's bed for a time, she wandered away and met Orr at Jack Harkness's bedside. She told Orr about her daughter and they changed into Carol's form, distressing her and leading her to run away, calling them a monster. (AUDIO: Herald of the Dawn)
