Birdwatching

Birdwatching was a hobby and sometimes scientific endeavour enjoyed on at least the planet Earth. It involved the careful observation of birds in their natural environments. When pursued scientifically, as the Third Doctor once attempted to do with the help of Tom Phipps, (COMIC: The Vortex) it was a branch of natural history, with the object being to draw conclusions about birds from observing them and methodically cataloguing their characteristics.
