Theory talk:Timeline - First Doctor
Sara Kingdom Companion Chronicles audios
The Sara Kingdom Companion Chronicles audios may be in the wrong order....
While the framing stories are placed in order they must be different for the Doctor.
If the Sara/House can relate the tales of (for example) the miners in "The Drowned World" this must be before Sara herself encountered and was 'copied' into the the house and so be BEFORE "Home Truths" – The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.153.85.222 (talk).
Full stories vs. scenes/flashbacks/references
It seems like more could be done to distinguish between stories set entirely at a particular point in One's timeline, and ones that briefly cross, flash back to or refer to that point. For example, the current first entries are straight listings of "PROSE: Lungbarrow", "TV: Listen" and "AUDIO: Master"; with no indication on the page that none of them is actually a First Doctor story. Any thoughts? --D47o ☎ 18:51, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
- You're right. Typically I try to do something like "PROSE: Whatever (flashback)" but whoever added those didn't. Fwhiffahder ☎ 18:53, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
- I'd do it, but I'm not familiar with most of the stories; and I don't know what the notation would be for cases other than flashbacks. --D47o ☎ 18:59, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
- Do you comrades want me to do it? I'm planning on buying these, and have bought some already. ThePenguinLordH ☎ 01:25, October 27, 2018 (UTC)

From Eternity
Should the story From Eternity be listed here? Its page is weirdly emphatic that the story doesn't specify the Doctor's incarnation; it even goes as far as to link to a meaningless secondary page just to underscore the point. But given that the Doctor is working with the Time Lords, with no mention of travelling or companions, it seems pretty reasonable to put it here.
By contrast, I wouldn't argue for putting The Longest Story in the World (short story) here; despite its page's calling it a First Doctor story, it seems to actually just be a girl telling an imaginary story, with no concrete connection to any Doctor. --D47o ☎ 19:25, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
- Just go ahead and edit it. These pages aren't official. They're just for theorizing. Fwhiffahder ☎ 20:43, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
- Someone presumably created the page and made the decision to omit the story. I'd like to know their perspective. --D47o ☎ 20:55, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
- Nope. Doesn't matter. Not how these pages work. Fwhiffahder ☎ 20:59, December 22, 2016 (UTC)

Note(s)
There are some stories which mention the Doctor being in them, although there is no evidence that they were actually there. We know the Doctor isn't 100% reliable, so should we get rid of the entries? Also a very quick note, the Doctor is very young during listen, and is disinherited from Lungbarrow at around the age of 200. If no-one else changes this, I will change it (eventually). So those are my quick notes. Thanks. ThePenguinLordH ☎ 01:32, October 27, 2018 (UTC)
Adventures with John and Gillian
So, I have a question for everyone; which of these scenarios is more likely;
- The Doctor slipped away from Susan, Ian and Barbara to have his adventures with John and Gillian before The Age of Endurance?
- Or he was traveling with John and Gillian before An Unearthly Child, and The Web Planet is not his first meeting with the Zarbi?
- The Doctor had two meetings with the Pied Piper?
Because The Age of Endurance makes reference to the TV Comics strip Challenge of the Piper, or at least the Doctor had met the Piper before The Age of Endurance. BananaClownMan 23:26, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
- We're gonna have to assume that latter, because the Doctor's explicitly not visited Vortis before by TV: The Web Planet.
- DOCTOR: Menoptra. Yes, does that word mean anything to you, hmm?
- IAN: No, nothing. You mean you've been here before?
- DOCTOR: No, no, my boy. No, but it's this rock formation and now this creature, this object, it suggests the planet Vortis.
- Although there might be an equally explicit reference in COMIC: Challenge of the Piper that contradicts this ordering too. Danochy ☎ 06:41, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
That would also conflict with PROSE: The Lost Ones, which also depicts his first time on Vortis. Unless the Doctor's being forgetful in The Web Planet, or he means he just hasn't been on that particular part of Vortis before? Might explain how he knew about the rock formations being a sign he was on Vortis. BananaClownMan 17:43, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
