User talk:Liamhenney
Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!
We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:
- the listing of all our help, policy and guideline pages
- our Manual of Style
- our image use policy
- our user page policy
If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! — you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:
Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask an admin.
Unconfirmed Titles
Please do not create pages with titles that have not been confirmed and/or add titles the the Series 5 page, If you continue to do so without correctly referencing you could get a ban of upto 2 weeks. Thanks Michael Downey 10:44, March 20, 2010 (UTC)
You have been warned about adding information that has not been referenced, continue and administrational action will take place. Michael Downey 10:50, March 20, 2010 (UTC)
If they have been confirmed then I have asked you to show the evidence to prove this. I know full well they haven't because they don't release the titles for the last 3 episodes until after the broadcast of the first episode which is in 2 weeks, so unless you can find a 'Reliable' source then use it, but if you continue to add titles without any reliable references then you will be banned. Michael Downey 11:40, March 20, 2010 (UTC)
You where warned previously about adding titles without correct and reliable refernces therefore admin action will take place. Michael Downey 19:54, March 21, 2010 (UTC)
Citing sources
Hi, when adding information to this wiki, be it in or out of universe sources need to be cited in order to confirm the information (so that readers know it hasn't just been conjured from the æther). Information that is added on high traffic pages such as the Series 5 article that does not cite a source is usually removed due to the high edit/readership of the page. See Tardis:Manual of Style#Citation for more information on citing a source. --Tangerineduel 06:40, March 22, 2010 (UTC)
- This is a warning, please do not add unsourced information to the Series 5 (Doctor Who) page or pages relating to it. Adding unsourced information cannot be confirmed and therefore will be interpreted as vandalism and action taken. --Tangerineduel 04:59, March 23, 2010 (UTC)
