Michael Wagstaffe was a journalist who worked as defence correspondent of the Daily Chronicle. He questioned Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart about Oxley Woods meteorite shower and the Doctor's identity. (DW: Spearhead from Space)

Later that year, Wagstaffe was killed in the assassination attempt on Sir John Sudbury. (MA: The Scales of Injustice)
