Pacifism
Pacifism was the term used to describe the beliefs of anyone who opposed wars and the use of violence. Anyone who took this choice of life was known as a pacifist.
The Seventh Doctor once described it as a "noble ideal". (AUDIO: Fiesta of the Damned) The Thirteenth Doctor commented that it was a "strong position to take during wartime." (TV: Spyfall) "Pacifism" was a swear word for Sontarans, who found honour only in battle. (AUDIO: The Eternal Battle)
Pacifist species
After the neutronic war that mutated its survivors, the Thals became a pacifist race. (TV: "The Ambush") The First Doctor wanted them to attack the Daleks, telling his granddaughter Susan that it was "no time for morals". (TV: "The Expedition") Fifty cycles after what came to be known as the "Thal-Dalek battle", the Thals had abandoned a purely pacifistic lifestyle though a movement existed within their society that championed a return to it. Professor Mehendri Solon, a follower of the Renegade Time Lord Morbius, branded the Time Lords who rejected him as "pacifist degenerates". (TV: The Brain of Morbius)
During the human-Hath War on Messaline in 6012, there was an outbreak of pacifism among the humans in the Eastern Zone, three generations before the Tenth Doctor's arrival. (TV: The Doctor's Daughter)

Pacifist individuals
The Thirteenth Doctor identified as a pacifist, as did Noor Inayat Khan, a British spy operating in Nazi-occupied Paris in World War II. As such, Noor did not carry a gun or a cyanide pill, only her radio equipment. (TV: Spyfall) During the Last Great Time War, a pacifist movement grew among the Time Lords with individuals such as Seratrix and Heleyna's grandfather wishing to peacefully negotiate with the Dalek Empire. While posing as Professor Carl Thascalos, the Master claimed to be a pacifist. (TV: The Time Monster)
Herrick branded Orfe a pacifist as he had no wish to take up arms against the Time Lords. (TV: Underworld)
