Director Vaar was the Dominator in charge of the 1969 Dominator attack on Earth.

History

When the Dominant Echelon required a more efficient method of creating sources of nuclear power, it was Vaar who suggested that instead of enslaving aliens to make them convert their planets to fuel, the Dominators could infiltrate alien societies and start a nuclear war.

Along with Navigator Deka and Probationer Azbo, Vaar came to Earth with 12 Quarks and established Dominex Industries under the alias "Dominic Vaar". Dominex came into a contract with the British government after demonstrating the benefits of negative mass flux absorbtion; the government would send their nuclear waste to Dominex and Dominex would convert it into energy. However, the nuclear waste was instead used to create nuclear missiles.

On the day that Vaar planned on firing the missiles at Russia, Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart stormed Dominex with the help of Ken Powell, Brian Hooper, and Jason Stevens. All of the Quarks and both of Vaar's colleague were killed during the siege, leaving Vaar to be taken prisoner.

Vaar was brought to a high-security prison, where he was to stay for the rest of his life. (PROSE: Mutually Assured Domination) Harold Chorley sought out Vaar, and was finally told that he needed to contact Sebastian Collins, who would lead him to Vaar. (PROSE: Moon Blink, The Dreamer's Lament)

An event involving Vaar, Sebastian Collins, Bill Bishop and Harold Chorley in September 1970 resulted in the death of Sally Wright. (PROSE: Fear of the Web, The Danger Men, Rise of the Dominator)

In 1973, Vaar became involved in London's criminal underground. (PROSE: Rise of the Dominator)

Vaar tried to create a new army of Dominators on Earth by creating human-Dominator hybrids. Bill Bishop was one of his test subjects. HAVOC put an end to the scheme (PROSE: Domination Game) and Vaar fled with Damon Vandervoort, the only successful hybrid created.

Vaar kept Damon a prisoner throughout his childhood on a remote island. During this time Vaar was dying because he had no access to a regeneration chamber. In 1983 a teenage Damon escaped and Vaar was forced to retrieve him. Around this time Vaar's presence caught the attention of Mr Sable, who offered Vaar a regeneration chamber in exchange for help taking over the world.

Bill Bishop and Lethbridge-Stewart caught up with Vaar at the Dominex facility on Dartmoor. Bishop shot Vaar several times in the chest until he was dead. (PROSE: Legacy of the Dominator)
