A fully powered lone Weeping Angel that had been recovered from a dead planet in a Dormant cycle. It had since then passed from private hand to hand remaining inactive the entire time though the Doctor revealed "There is a difference between dormant and patient".

This proved true when the Angel was eventually loaded on to the vault of the Byzantine which possessed a temporal core that could be a massive food source for the Angel. River Song who had been sent to asses the situation recognised the supposedly harmless piece of art has one of the Lonely Assassins and tried to warn the Ship's Captain before she fled that the ship was never going to reach its destination with that thing on board.

The angel eventually crashed the ship apparently by chance on the planet of the Alvacs, and despite the wreckage River and the Doctor knew that a simple crash would never kill an Angel and it had to be stopped before it fed on the core becoming unstoppable. Before it escaped the ships hold the Angel "Decided to check things out" by projecting it self through a video feed River had left running off it self and almost devoured Amy by zapping her back to the past but she managed to freeze the feed on the point of the loop thereby severing the link. The angel however managed to infect Amy with a copy of it self that had reflected on her eyes.

Once the Doctor and the Priests entered the Maze the angel began to hunt them in a sadistic playful manner by killing soldiers one by one and using their voices to lure in others all the while distracting the hunters from its true intentions. It also tormented Amy by making her think she was turning to Stone at various points.

Eventually deciding it wanted to talk with the Doctor it copied the consciousness of one of the soldiers it killed using him as a mouth piece and spoke with the Doctor when he discovered the true nature of the statues. Admitting the crash of the Byzantine was actually a rescue mission it showed little concern for the men it killed saying all that mattered was the recovery of its brethren. It then told the Doctor with a predatory joy that it was coming after him and the others and was taking its time and when it found them it would enjoy killing them. It also showed no fear of the Doctor by telling him his encouragement to Bob was useless and the soldiers fear only made the kill all the more exquisite.
