Sheffield Winter Garden

The Winter Gardens was a location in Sheffield by the 21st century.

History

In the early 2000s, the Ninth Doctor asked Lizzie for directions to the Winter Gardens while he was standing near the lift in a Debenhams in Sheffield. Lizzie turned her back to discuss the best route with other people, but when she turned back, she found the Doctor had disappeared. (PROSE: Have You Seen This Man?)

Behind the scenes

The Winter Gardens, in the real world, are actually called the Sheffield Winter Garden, a glasshouse located in Sheffield that was opened on 22 May 2003.

Though it's possible that a real world location doesn't exist in the same geographic space in the Doctor Who universe, such cases are few and far between. Thus, the map to the right is probably a good indicator of the DWU location of Sheffield Winter Garden.
