Vagg was a human colonist. He was on a space ship heading for the twin planets when the ship collided with another ship doing a warp speed which caused a temporal anomaly. There was nothing left of the ship, just the crew. However the crew had become Interstitials, who existed only in the space or time between things. K9 sent the Interstitials back to a better place.
