Things have been happening, but they're on the back-end and have no visible footprint yet. As the new front page doesn't involve currency at all, your questions are moot. That is, we've seen the same problems you've noted, and those observations are what has motivated the switch to a scheme of organisation that's not based on release date.

The front page will be switched within the next couple of weeks.
