Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.

British English, please

We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.

Spoilers aren't cool

We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Other useful stuff

Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Rory

Thanks for the clean up of his joining the Doctor. I wrote it really quickly, so I was hoping someone else would come along and clean it up for me. I was working mainly off of memory from last night. Thanks again! Musedae 20:26, May 9, 2010 (UTC)

Time field

Hi, I've semi-protected the page (which means no unregistered users can edit it) and changed the move permissions for the page so only admins can move it. Any other issues feel free to leave me a message and I'll try to be of assistance. --Tangerineduel 04:33, May 10, 2010 (UTC)

Subpages

Pretty much the same as user pages, see Tardis:User page policy for more info and get back to me if you've got any other questions. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 13:49, May 10, 2010 (UTC)

thank you very much for fixing the Lucy Saxon article Sclera1 00:54, May 11, 2010 (UTC)

Quote of the Week

Oh...I knew I forgot to do something. I do usually remember. Very occasionally I do forget (I think this past week there was a lot of vandalism and I was distracted.).

If you want take it on I'd be fine with that, just be sure, when updating the quote of the week it's done by GMT and that the quote that's voted goes into the quote of the week archive (there's also a link to the archive at the bottom of the nominations page), if you're going ahead add whichever quote was nominated for this week (you could even change it for the...however many hours we've got until it needs to be changed if you'd like). The formatting of the archive is pretty straight forward.

Any questions, issues, problems or anything feel free to ask. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 17:19, May 16, 2010 (UTC)

Hi, in updating this week's quote of the week, I noticed something a little odd in the archive, you added the quote to the archive but used the whole web address to link Queen Victoria and the story name. The original nomination wasn't linked in that way so I was just curious...why? Thanks for updating the quote for those few hours (as I said I do try to keep it updated on time). Thanks. --Tangerineduel 14:03, May 17, 2010 (UTC)
Did you copy and paste from the edit box (by clicking edit first and then copying the text, that's what I usually do) or by copying just the page's text?
Also on a totally unrelated matter, the edit you made to the Time Field page wasn't a minor edit, minor edits are stuff like correcting minor spelling, punctuation etc, Wikipedia has a detailed definition; Wikipedia - Help:Minor edit. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 14:47, May 17, 2010 (UTC)

Clarification on semi-protected page editing

Hiya - Hope this is the right place to ask? Just have a question regarding who is eligible to edit semi-protected articles, I just joined the other day and notice I am prevented from editing all articles with semi-protected banners even when logged in - it tells me that the pages have been locked to prevent editing, though others who I don't believe to be admin seem to be able to edit them. Just want to make sure this is not some kind of bug I am experiencing. cheers DreamSong 09:38, May 19, 2010 (UTC)
