Taron was a Thal who was part of a small taskforce sent to Spiridon to defeat the Daleks based there, serving as the team's medic. When their spacecraft crashed on Spiridon, their captain, Miro, was killed on touchdown, leaving Taron to take command as the next most senior. When a second taskforce arrived on Spiridon, Taron was not pleased to see that his lover, Rebec, was among them, fearing for her safety. When the taskforce first met Jo Grant and the Third Doctor, Taron was suspicious of them, but later accepted them as allies. (TV: Planet of the Daleks)
