Kriz was a member of an insectoidal species that surveyed the planet Karn for colonisation by his over-populated world. (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Brain of Morbius)
Biography
Kriz was pulled to Karn by its magnetic radiation belt, but survived in an ejection bubble. However, he was attacked and beheaded by Condo so his head could be used by Morbius, but Mehendri Solon rejected it as unsuitable. (TV: The Brain of Morbius)
After Kriz was killed, the Fourth Doctor recognised him as a Mutt. (TV: The Brain of Morbius)
Behind the scenes
- Kriz is never named on-screen; his name is given only in the closing titles and Radio Times programme listing for The Brain of Morbius part one, as well as in Terrance Dicks's novelisation of the story.
- The costume used for Kriz was a Mutt costume left over from TV: The Mutants.
