{{Cite book}} is a template used to cite books. It originates from the Fandom Templates Wiki.

Description

When you want to cite a book, type this template and type recommended bibliographic details to make the book citation clear.

Usage

Most common forms

You can cite a book by using the template forms below.

To cite a book with a credited author:

{{Cite book|first=|last=|title=|date=|pages=|publisher=|accessdate=}}

or

{{Cite book|author=|title=|date=|pages=|publisher=|accessdate=}}

To cite a book with no credited author:

{{Cite book|title=|date=|pages=|publisher=|accessdate=}}

To cite a book in a foreign language:

  • first – the author's first name
  • last – the author's last name
  • author – alternative to the first and last parameters
  • title – the book title
  • date – when the book was published
  • publisher – name of the publisher
  • location – location or address
  • accessdate – when the book was accessed
  • pages – book's pages that you read
  • languauge – the language of the book
  • month – the month when the book was published
  • year – the year when the book was published
  • archiveurl – the URL of the book archive
  • authorlink – the URL of the author
  • accessyear – the year when you accessed the book
  • accessmonth – the month when you accessed the book
  • work
  • coauthors – name of coauthors
  • archivedate – date of the archive
  • quote – quote or note about the source

Required

  • author – author's name
  • title – book title
  • date – when the book was published
