Gregor Van Baalen's scanner was a highly advanced hand-held scanner that could conduct incredibly detailed scans, including extrapolating the function and value of Time Lord technology such as the Architectural reconfiguration system, which the scanner described as "More valuable than the total sum of any currency" after identifying the system's ability to produce anything.
