Thomas Kincade and Valerie Brannigan had a litter of children, who the latter gave birth to whilst travelling the New New York motorway. The Tenth Doctor beams at the sights of children and picks one of them in delight. When the Doctor asks Brannigan and Valerie to take him down to the Fast Lane, they refused as they did not want to risk the lives of their children down there. When the doors to the Motorway is finally opened by the Doctor with help from the Face of Boe, Valerie happily shows her children the sunlight that is now shining into the car. (TV: Gridlock)
