Ariadne (Lost Ships and Lost Lands)
Professor Ariadne was an avian humanoid who was resurrected in the City of the Saved. She joined the Questor for research purposes hoping to discover the Lost Land - which only appeared once annually during midsummer - alongside Lenos and Charles. However, shortly before embarking their Captain and engineer bailed on the voyage having been bribed by Tzeki and Arak who took their places. When Brianna ap t'Erapi inadvertently crash landed on the Questor, having fallen from a great height when her newly acquired wings failed her, Ariadne was one of the friendliest of the crew and encouraged the others to allow her to remain.
When the Questor reached the Lost Land they found that they were too late and the land was fading from existence for another year. Lenos attempted to reach the Lost Land in a lifeboat but a tornado threatened to destroy the Questor.
