Point Five Fingers

Point Five Fingers was the name given by James Cook to an area on the coast of New Zealand which was passed by the Endeavour on its 1770 voyage, which had the First Doctor and Ian Chesterton aboard. The area was by a bay which was surprisingly easy to access, with calm waters and a wide point of entry. Chief scientist Joseph Banks wanted to stop in the bay nearby, but this was not achieved before nightfall and by the time day had broken it was too far behind them. (AUDIO: The Transit of Venus)
