A time centrifuge was the process by which, through rapid spinning, many subjects from different time periods would be separated by their respective time signatures and sent back to when they came from. It was taught to the Doctor at the Time Lord Academy.

When closing down a pocket universe, the Thirteenth Doctor attached a power source to its exact centre point and started a time centrifuge with her sonic screwdriver which sent all of the dimension's inhabitants back to their original homes. However, the process was not perfect; Trip was able to resist it to stay with the Doctor, and the Doctor herself was not affected directly, stating that she had lived in so many times and places that she would "get pulled in a dozen different directions". Eventually, however, she was able to return to her entry point at Hydra Hall. (COMIC: Hydra's Gate)
