The Space-Time Manipulator, also known as the STM, was a machine that could drag objects from other times and places. It had no fixed entry point, meaning specific locations were difficult to get on fix on. (K9TV: The Bounty Hunter) A Korven spacecraft carrying a Manipulator crashed in the frozen wastelands of Canada. (K9TV: Angel of the North) By 2050 the Manipulator was captured by the Department and installed into Alistair Gryffen's house. Gryffen intended to use it to bring back his lost family, but Starkey interfered with it, which brought four Jixen and K-9 to Earth. (K9TV: Regeneration)

When Jorjie suggested using the Manipulator to have adventures through time, Darius argued against it saying anything could come through. Immediately after, the Space-Time Manipulator sent a couple of rats out, frightening Darius. (K9TV: Liberation)

The Korven later time travelled from 2618 using the Space-Time Manipulator to capture Professor Gryffen. (K9: The Korven)

The bounty hunter Ahab travelled through the Space-Time Manipulator to track down K-9. (K9TV: The Bounty Hunter)

A trio of non-corporeal lifeforms came through the STM. Posing as Gryffen's lost family, they almost had Jorjie and Darius thrown into it, until K-9 and Starkey intervened, sending the beings back through instead. (K9TV: The Fall of the House of Gryffen)

An accident with the STM briefly sent Starkey, Jorjie and K-9 to the year 1963. (K9TV: The Cambridge Spy)

The STM was destroyed in a final confrontation with the Korven, sucking in the villainous aliens before exploding in a fiery blast. (K9TV: Eclipse of the Korven)
