Ven-Garr was one of the Harvest Rangers sent to the unknown planet to 'harvest' trees for fuel.He was in command when he encountered Madge Arwell.Madge hancuffed Ven-Garr and Droxil to poles in their Androzani Harvester.When Madge wished to know how to find her children, Billis was the one she trusted. When it was almost time for the acid rain to come , the three Harvest Rangers were teleported to safety, leaving Madge behind.
