Evelina (The Fires of Pompeii)

Evelina was the daughter of Caecilius and Metella and the sister to Quintus. She aspired to join the Sibylline Sisterhood, a local cult of oracles influenced by the alien Pyroviles. She had herself breathed in the Pyrovile's dust and had psychic powers. The Doctor transported her, with her family away from their burning house in the TARDIS, so as to escape the volcanic eruption. The Doctor told her that the link with Pyrovile had been broken, so that she was no longer psychic. Six months later she was living in Rome with her family and going out more as she was seeing a boy. Behind the Scenes
- The Caecilius family (Caecilius, Metella and Quintus) were based upon characters used in Latin text books, in turn based on actual historical characters but Evelina was invented by James Moran so she could be a member of the Sibylline Sisterhood.
