- 29th November - Giacomo Puccini dies in Brussels, Belgium from complications due to treatment for throat cancer. In 1904 the Doctor had reassured Puccini that despite the hostile reception it initially received, his Madam Butterfly would be a success (DW: "Doctor Who: The TV Movie").
