The Hoothi are fungoid creatures of an unknown homeworld. Hoothi can exist either as spores or as planet-sized gas-filled spheres that allow them to travel through space. They live on decaying organic matter. The Hoothi know of the Time Lords and of the Doctor, encountering him, Ace and Bernice Summerfield on Heaven. (NA: Love and War)
