Ambrose piloted the nuclear submarine the USS Jefferson.

He lost control of the submarine as it got pulled into an Antarctic glacier, where a giant doorway opened up inside. The Jefferson's crew was then enslaved under the control of the Daleks as part of their invasion plans. (COMIC: *Sub Zero)
