When I encountered it, the article had this BTS note:

Although rarely recognized as such, Sabetha is actually an early example of a "one-off" companion who accompanies the Doctor for the duration of one story only. Sara Kingdom, who is often considered a full companion, is another example.

. . . and I'll be damned if I can understand what that's supposed to mean. They're guest stars, plain and simple. I mean if they're companions then so is Duggan from City of Death, Jo's furture husband in The Green Death, Marco Polo in Marco Polo, or virtually any pro-Doctor guest star who makes it through an entire serial. The thing that makes Sabetha and Altos' claim to being a companion even harder, though, is how very little screentime they actually share with the Doctor. CzechOut | 00:17, February 5, 2010 (UTC)
