"Yes, we know who you are."[[edit source]]

Not sure how it should be presented (I'm used to just adding or clarrifying bulletpoints, not adding whole paragraphs or sections), but we can all agree this is a very clear reference to Terry Nation, lord and creator of the Pepperpots, right? I feel like that should be noted on the page somewhere. (Tho, I don't know if it should go in the BTS section or a newly added Notes section). Unless the reference is simply too overt to mention? (I'm not too familiar with the wiki policies.) Noob Sunrider 18:15, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

A behind the scenes note should be fine. 18:36, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
Just to be clear, User:Epsilon the Eternal is not an admin. As an admin, I am pointing out that we don't usually post references to things unless there is some kind of source; otherwise we would have chaos with people adding things that they think are references. Yeah, I too feel that Epsilon is jumping the gun here. The fact that the name is a reference to Terry Nation is obvious enough to be recorded in BTS (although phrased as simply "The name is reminiscent of…", not "The name is intentionally a reference to…"). But it definitely shouldn't be suggested that there exists any in-universe relationship between Terrynate and Terry Nation, the way it currently is on the page. Wow, @Shambala108, I didn't know that only Admins are allowed to advise any user about anything. New to me.
As for Terrynate being a reference to Terry Nation, yeah, I think it's pretty clear that its intended to be an homage to Terry Nation. Don't need to be Hercule Poirot to figure that out. Granted, I should have phrased it on the page better.
And hold on a tickety-boo, I have seen numerous occasions where this practice of saying "notably, a guy called x y z did something" on a page where a character is obviously meant to be another character has been done all across the Wiki - don't come down on me ffs, when I was following what I believed was perfectly acceptable. 00:41, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
