The "sonic spatula" was, despite its name, seemingly an ordinary spatula.

History

When Doctor Doctor's "illusion anti-gravity football" was stuck out of reach in the STARSHED, he attempted to use his "sonic spatula" to get it down, warning Patience Patience to stand back. Upon observing that it "[wasn't] working", Patience found this obvious, telling him that it was "just a spatula", although the Doctor consoled the spatula upon hearing this, telling it not to listen to her. Behind the scenes

The sonic spatula is a clear parody of the Doctor's sonic screwdriver.
