Robert Maxwell was a major media proprietor and publisher. He was the former owner of Mirror Group Newspapers, which owned the Daily Mirror. He died in 1991, four years prior to the release of Downtime [+]Loading...["Downtime (home video)"] in 1995.

He was portrayed by David Suchet in the 2007 film Maxwell.
