New blood, kind of. I was familiar with Doctor Who (including the excellent, if no longer canonical Scream of the Shalka) prior to the fact, but Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant was still what completely brought me into the show and universe. Still unfamiliar and getting-used-to-the-pacing, though not dismissive of the old '63-'89 show (I liked The Mutants and The Talons of Weng-Chiang if that amounts to anything). Likewise, listened to next to none of the Big Finish stuff, but enjoyed what little I did, particularly from The New Eighth Doctor Adventures.
Love the two BBC Wales spinoffs on top of Who's increasingly-inaccurately-named new series.
While I prefer Doctor Who to Torchwood, I'd probably be more willing to 'Entry Pimp' facts from Torchwood canon, due to there being less of it in the in-universe pages.
Also, even if they're not quite classics, I quite liked Daleks in Manhattan and the Slitheen family episodes.
