The "Star Poet" was a female Arcateenian known to Sarah Jane Smith. Having gotten lost, the Star Poet located Sarah Jane Smith, who gave her directions back home. In return, the Star Poet gave Sarah Jane a contact to help her with writing her poetry. Maria Jackson saw Sarah Jane with the Star Poet in her garden. This was the first alien she ever saw.
