Pearl River

The Pearl River was a wide river in China on which the city of Guangzhou was situated. It travelled east-to-west before varying south and widening further as it reached the city. Xamian Island was situated on the river in south-west Guangzhou, right at the point where it diverged. From there, the main river carried on south while a secondary river continued in an easterly direction. (PROSE: The Eleventh Tiger)
