Shadow-Masks were part of the Remote's suits of armour. Made out of Highest Entropy Matter, they would slow the ageing of the wearer, and would also allow them greater sensory functions in order to recognize the time-structures of rival factions in the War in Heaven. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
