Technical caveats[[edit source]]

"Tardis Wiki has never modified wiki content at the request of BBC, law enforcement, or another third party."

Is that, technically, true? We've removed Morbius Doctor pictures at copyright-holders' request, we've modified individuals' pages at their request (e.g. because they'd transitioned or otherwise had a name change). --Scrooge MacDuck 13:03, 15 April 2024 (UTC)

Distinction between users doing it and the wiki doing it / it happening before we moved to the new site, I guess? That could work? Najawin 15:44, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
Not altogether convinced. As regards the former loophole, surely the only form "the Wiki doing it" could take would be admins doing it, qua admins, as part of implementing Wiki policy — which is typically what's going on with deadname renames, and was what was going on with the Morbius Doctor pictures. As regards the latter, surely it's only a matter of time before another real-person-requested name or pronoun change has to be implemented, so relying on the technicality that it's not happened at the fork yet feels pointless. --Scrooge MacDuck 16:04, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
I was including the deadname changes as being done by admins qua users, and the picture removals being done on the prior site. Najawin 16:49, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
Ah, I see. Still, I don't think that's a very sensible distinction re: deadnames. --Scrooge MacDuck 18:33, 15 April 2024 (UTC)

I mean, I'm not thrilled with the option. But I think it's a potential way to think about it. Najawin 18:50, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
